Oils, Solvents & Liquids

Spudy says..."A good tip with Ammonia based solvents is not to leave them in the bore of the barrel longer than you need to. They can be quite aggressive and cause damage if left unattended for to long a period. It's good practice to run a little oil down the barrel after cleaning to help provent rust during storage. Always read the manufacturers instructions on the bottles!

Most rifles after cleaning will need to be fouled for them to come back on to their zero. By this I mean they literally want two or three shots through them in to a safe back stop, to clean out any solvent left in there from cleaning. If you are stalking, with a clean rifle this is doubly important and also to recheck your zero any way.
